Digging Through 5 Months of Motorcycle Travel: Journals

I'm going through the boxes and going to send whatever I don't need to carry anymore to Zach's. It's a range of stuff from maps, receipts, more maps, journals and whatever else I may find in the excavation.

Here's my written journals. After skimming these, I've come to the conclusion that I prefer the written to the typed journals. More spontaneous and amusing really, the majority is rambling and 'in the moment'.

I'm utilizing my time here well, this is the perfect time to lighten the load and reflect on the past 6 Moons.

Written journals. Started off with a manifesto of sorts with the lower left in May. Moved on to the writing pad in the center which lasted for 3 days. Next was the steno pad on the far left which got me from VA to AZ in mid June. Next is the map in the background, a Forest Service Motor Vehicle Map from Coconino National Forest which petered out in Arkansas. While at the GS Giant Rally in Oark, I started scribbling on the packet. It lasted till WY or so and that's when I started more typing. Hindsight, I shall move back to written journaling. There's a more pure essence of the moment that can only be truly captured then.

Coconino Forest Service Motor Vehicle Map turned journal. Arizona June 2012, Front & Back This thing is pushing 4x5 feet. Few panels remain blank. I was using a marker at the time and found myself bleeding through previous scribbles on the back side.. No good.
